Small class sizes have a big benefit to our students and teachers. How do we know? We see the model work, time and time again. Children learn and connect in an environment where they are known, understood and valued. They grow in an environment where they feel safe to take risks. They lead in an environment where they are confident in their roles and enjoy a true sense of belonging.

Small Classes. Big Benefits.

Meaningful Connections

There is a strong sense of connection among Grace community members. Meaningful relationships developed with classmates and teachers help students feel safe emotionally to make mistakes and learn from them — an invaluable teaching tool. These connections help establish a level of profound acceptance in the classroom, and it becomes a beautiful cycle: strong connections make the children more open to learn and further connect.

Personalized Learning

Small class sizes mean teachers have time to implement tailored, flexible instruction to meet individual learning needs. They allow for close monitoring of student development and progress. With a small student-to-teacher ratio, classroom learning can become active and collaborative, incorporating several different learning styles.

Student Engagement

With fewer students in a class, there are more opportunities for each child to share ideas and express opinions in a safe space. Students find motivation in their close relationships and feel a sense of belonging, helping them to engage and ultimately, thrive!

A Greater Network of Support

Thanks to our small size, teachers and administrators are able to create strong partnerships with parents and caregivers, making families an integral part of the students’ education. This shared concern for the children’s learning and welfare creates the feeling of a home away from home for Grace students.
