September restores old routines and brings us to new ones. Like school uniforms, they need to be re-sized each year to make sure they still fit.
My hope is that Grace Church can support you as you establish your family’s spiritual routines. Parenting is a tough job; parenting in a community of faith can offer companionship, wisdom, and encouragement.
If you are wondering what our community is like, I encourage you to come to our “Llamapalooza” on Sunday, September 20 from 9:30-10:20. This event includes miniature highland cows (really!) and highlights the joy and belonging that is part of life at Grace Church.
If you find the idea of getting your children to worship a challenge, I encourage you to join us on the 20th—or any Sunday—for our 9:00 Little Church service. Worship lasts 30 minutes or less, and we celebrate kids as kids. Whatever behavior they might bring to church—tears, strange questions, running in circles, dancing with joy—are all welcome. We’ve seen it all and we love having it there.
I invite you to reach out to Mother Emma, our school chaplain, or to me if you are curious. Grace School enriches the wider Grace community, and we are so glad you are back from the summer.
Yours in Christ,
Anne
